I've needed to do a new self-portrait for awhile. I wanted to do something with character and something that began to tap into my view on realism and abstract.
The kanji is Raku which means "Enjoy." I picked this since it is the kanji I am using for my name, Lach, which is pronounced "Lock," and this is the closest pronunciation in Japanese. Chalk pastel and chalk pastel pencils over an acrylic wash. 2'x 2 1/2' |
